Árdán Garden in Howth, Dublin offers a unique experience and is a highlight on many international tours of Ireland, as well as a popular destination for local garden clubs and societies.

Tour operators regularly include Árdán thanks to excellent visitor feedback, praising its vibrant beauty and the warm, knowledgeable welcome from Nuala and Conall. All tours are personally led by them, sharing the story of the garden and their creative journey.

Each visit is tailored to your group’s interests and typically lasts around 80 minutes, with time for questions and conversation. Coach access is available to the door, with guidance provided on routes and parking.

Visitors often combine their trip with nearby Medina Garden, just 800m away. Group tours can be booked any day.

When can we visit?

The garden is open each Friday and Saturday during the summer months, June-August. There will be more limited days in September.

Group Tours and Exclusive Private Visits can be arranged at other times by appointment.

The garden is closed from October through to the end of May each year.

Do I get a timed slot to visit?

No, your ticket allows you to visit at any time on that day. Open times are 11am to 4pm. Afternoons tend to be quieter.

How long does a visit last?

Most visitors spend up to an hour exploring the garden. There is no rush.
Guided tours last about 45 minutes and then visitors are free to stay and enjoy further time in the garden.

Can the kids come?

Of course, they will love exploring the garden. Kids under 12 enter free. They must be accompanied by an adult.

Can we take photographs?

We are very happy that you take photos of the garden, plants and art. Please omit the house.
