The garden is open to visit without pre-booking on each Friday and Saturday through the summer. The gates are open 11am to 4pm. Group tours and special events can be arranged for other days and times.
The weather will be more than Irish. We are high on Howth hill and 4km out to sea, so it never get too hot. That’s what makes our plants so happy.
Our Address is Ardán Garden, Windgate Road, Howth, Dublin 13, D13 K718. That is 18km from Dublin city centre, usually a 40 minute drive.
By Train from Dublin get the Dart to Howth, the final stop on the Howth line. From the village, it is a steep walk uphill. Or, if you are on for it, follow the beautiful Cliff Walk to the Summit, about an hour. From there it is just 400m to the garden. But you may prefer to catch a taxi or bus at Howth village to come up the hill.
By Bus, the H3 from Abbey Street in Dublin comes all the way to Howth Summit, just 400m from the garden. Or from Howth village catch the H3 or the 6 to the Summit.
Car Parking is available along the street, but please be attentive to neighbour’s access.

There are gravel paths in much of the garden. The garden is on three levels and there are steps, but all areas can be reached by a grass path sloping through the garden.
There are seats in every area of the garden, so relax and enjoy.
Coming to Howth, you are in for a treat.
We are situated on a scenic peninsula just north of Dublin famous for its cliff walk and historic fishing village, with many restaurants serving fish fresh from the port. There are many historic attractions and exciting guided experiences.
